Who: Whoever wants to join! When: April 2008 Setting: Bullpen (obviously!). The team are given a serial rapist/murder case which, on the surface, seems reasonable easy. One problem - they're against the clock, and their UnSub waits for no one...
Hotch sat in his office, and ran a hand through his hair. He'd already been there for an hour, and had done everything he'd needed to do. Team assesment sheets from Strauss, written reports, co-signing reports, it was all done. And now, he would wait, hoping that there wouldn't be a case today. Truth of the matter was, he wasn't as focussed as he should be. His mind refused to focuss solely on his work. And he knew that any minute now his team would be arriving, and someone would call him through with a case at the ready. And, as bad as it sounded, he almost hoped that the flu that was travelling around the BAU at that time had infected enough of his team to make him call in the back-up team. All he needed was a day or two to get things sorted, and he'd be fine.
But, obviously, that wasn't meant to be...

Ariene looked around the building as she walked in. It was still a little odd that she was here. First it was so far from her home in Wales and second she was in the FBI, and american federal law enforcement agency fighting some of the things that had been done to her, but much more extreme. As she walked going to her desk and man stopped her. She smiled and he asked that she give a folder to Agent Hotchner, that it was from JJ. With her strong welsh accent she nodded and took it and said, "Yes, Sir." Then she walked up the stairs and to Hotch's office.
"Sir," She called through the door sounding very british with in all the american's, "I was asked to give this to you." She stood just with in the thresh hold not going in until she was invited. She knew that this meant that she was going to have her first case, and she was a little exited but also scared. This was her time to shine, or fade.

Hitch glanced up at the strong accent and blinked, momentarily losing himself, and almost forgetting where he was.
"Thanks....Come on in." he said, shaking his head slightly, and reaching for the file Ariene held out to him. He quickly thumbed through it, shaking his head as pictures started to flash across his mind.
"This just come in?" He asked, looking back up at her, mind back on business.

Ariene watched Hotch and then stepped inside on his invite. He loomed distant and sad, but she knew not to ask, there was no reason she should know what was going on in his life, just like he had no right to know her past. he let his take the file and watched his face change at the sight of what was in it. She had not looked but she knew what was in there. "Yes sir. Just a second ago."

Hotch nodded, as he quickly skimmed the report.
"Looks like we're heading out to the sticks again." He said, as he glanced up.
"Have you had a read of this yet?" He asked, as he stood up, and gathered up a few things, as he made his way over the short distance to where she stood, holding out the file.

"No." Ariene answered in her Welsh accent. She watched Hotch move over to her the file extemed. Nodding thanks she took it and skimmed through it. Once she had the jist of it she closed the file and looked at hotchner waiting for command, he was the boss.

(OOC: Spammer, disgusted people! I deleted the post, don't want that clogging up the boards!)
"We'll set up in the conference room, see if we can get any further details. Looks like this guy could span over several states, the MO seems familiar, I just can't place it." He said, making for the conference room, with a slight frown.
"Have you heard from anyone else? Flus been going round, I've had Morgan already ring in with it. You feeling OK?" He asked, in a one-breath-rush.

Ariena follow Hotchner just a step behind him to show that he was the dominate one and that she was the follower. She really couldn't help herself with it. Growing up in the hosue she did with the father she had drilled this kind of thing into her head. She was a little shorter then Hotch so when she looked at him her head had to be tilted up a little. She nodded at his words and drove herself into her archives of memories determined to try and help figure out why this guy was fimiliar. Then he asked a personal question, kind of, and it came to her as shock. Her whole life everything had been about everyone else. At school, at school, at home, she had never had that mean friends so she was used to being just plan seroius with no care to who, or what she was. "Oh... No sir. No one." she answered in her heavy welsh accent, "And i'm feeling fine, sir. I think it might be the fact that I'm not from around here, or something," she smiled a little at this then looked around the conference room herself. Was she really going to be going this alone with the unit cheif?

Hotch could sense her nervousness, but with things the way they were, his perception was clouded more than it should be, and his intuition more hindered, so couldn't place why. He nodded at her answer though, looking around the empty conference room. Maybe someone else would join them, but for know, it was the two of them.
"So, we've got a rapist slash murderer who goes after blondes, and who may or may not be a serial. Not much to go on, but we'll make do." He said, returning his mind to the matter at hand.
"Before we head out, if indeed we head out, I'll get Garcia to do a run through of VICAP, see if we can get some background to this MO." He said, re-opening the file on the desk he'd set it on.

Ariene also glared around the empty room. She was not as good with men as she was with women, understandable. But then when she abled for this job she knew that there was only like 2 female profilers, so she was just asking for it. Maybe she wanted to try and get over this fear. That made the most sense, or another thing was what if she just didn't want anyone to be in the way of her being what she wanted to be, a profiler. Now that she was here, though, she was going to have to prove herself to Hptchner. In here heavy accent she slowly came out with what they knew about this type of rapist. "This seems to be 'Sadistic Rapist', the most danergous of all the type of rapists. The purpose of hgis attack is to live on his sadist fantasies on the unwilling victim. With this type sexual fantasy and agression merge, so as the level of aggression rises so does his level of arousal. The aggression is not anger based, though. Acusally he can be quite charming and seductive, which he will use as a lure to get his victims. He is completely self-centered, the only thing about the rape that he cares about is him, and does not care if the victim is hurt, or killed. In some cases the killing of the victim is part of a ritual that he has to follow to get the effect that he wants. The weapon of choise is normally a knife, which gives his power and strength...." Ariene knew that there was more to the profile then that, and that this guy also seemed to be a little in the 'Anger Rapist' catagory, because it seemed that he was choicing his victims by a curtain type, that would show that he was trying to get back at some one with out hurting them, or they are relivimng the moment in which they did hurt them. That couldn't be decided, though, unless they found out if there was any more victims of the same type.

Hotch stood back slightly and looked Ariene over quickly, before finally cracking a rare, soft smile.
"Wow, you manage a lot on a little information." He said, which immediatly back-upped his first impression that she would be a good profiler. It also caused him to think back to when Elle had been in the unit, as she'd normally been the first one to spew that sort of information. Ignoring it he went back to what Ariene had said.
"Think he knows his victims before hand? And will he do it again?" He tested, gently, looking over the file, although more interested in Ariene's answer.

Ariena smiled when Hotch smiled at her and said that she had done a good job. She knew a lot of stuff and knew how to use it. When he asked if the killed knew his victim and if he would do it again she knew that he was testing her and truing to see what she knew. She was new here so that made a lot of sense. "No he most likely did not know the victim personally, though he might have followed her and planed the attack for months. This type of attack is not easy, and he would have had to plan extensively to do what he had to and not get caught." She answered simply. "The chances that he will do this again are very high. He gets of on hurting this women and will have to do it again. Also the first time might not have been what he wanted, so he will do it again, perfecting his MO with each one."
She paused for a second then said, "Sadistic Rapists are ussually white, with above-normal intelligence, and may be college-educated with a good middle-class job. He will have a dominant personality and collect bondage and sadomasochistic pornography. He may also collect related items, such as knives, guns, or Nazi memorabilia, and read military, law enforcement, or survivalist literature. He may have a large attack-type dog such as a German shepherd, Doberman, or rottweiler. Because of his intelligence and planning, he will be difficult to apprehend." She ranted off the normally profile for Hotch, just to let him know that she knew it.

Hotch nodded, with a slow smile spreading across his face. Good answer, and obviously a quick thinker.
"Good job." He said, sincerly, as he put the file down, and perched on the edge of the table. Gotten his answer and more. She'd be a hell of a profiler one day, and the corners of his mouth tugged up at the thought.
"Possible stressors?" He asked, before he sat back against his arm, as he gave her a piercing gaze. He hadn't wanted to heap another tester question on her, but was intrigued to hear her answer.

Ariena wanted to smile when Hotchner said that she had done a good job. She was so hoping that she was going to be a good profiler. The fact that some of the things that they worked with where really bad was a little scary, and that she was one of the few girls. Knowing that she was good made her feel that she could do it, tak on anything. Then another question was through at her. This one was harder, and Hotch should know that it was pretty hard to say with out really knowing but she was willing to give it a try. "It is hard to say, sould be anything from a bad break up, to a family member dieing. But with a Sadicist rapist the people around him would have noticed way before he now that he was not right. Peeing Toms, breaking into houses, and other small crimes. It is only possible that there is no stressor, that he has always had the compulsion to rape, but just now got the courage to do it. We really can't tell 'till we see if there is a partern in the wemon that he attacks... which would mean more victims." It was hard to say the last part. It was never a good thing when there was other victims in any crime, it was just sad, but in some cases you need more. At least in rape they weren't dead, though that did not mean it was better.
((ooc: Just a question. Why are you only on like once every month?))
